At the 50th anniversary of one of the oldest biennial in the world – Biennial of Design (BIO) – the Museum of Architecture and Design and the main partner of the Biennial, the ELES company, the system operator of the electricity transmission network, developed an international photo contest for the best Instagram photo Transmitting energy – BIO 50. The contest, which took place from February until the end of May 2014, received more than 1000 photos from around the world, and among the photos that thematize the energy transmission from different points of view, the international jury of the contest, which consisted of Jan Boelen, curator of BIO 50, Peter Koštrun, renowned photographer and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Of University in Ljubljana, Vera Sacchetti, critic and editor of numerous design and architectural publications and magazines, Katja Krasko Štebljaj, Head of the public relations department of ELES company, and Matevž Čelik, director of the Museum of Architecture and Design, selected the best photos which will be exhibited in the Right atrium of the Ljubljana Town Hall. Authors of the best three photos were rewarded with a financial prize.

The winners of photo contest for the best Instagram photo Transmitting energy – BIO 50 are: 1st prize: snicelj – Neža Oblak, 2nd prize: spamdrew4000 – Andrew Luk, 3rd prize: leajambrosic – Leja Jambrošič.
