Library

When it was founded in 1972, the museum’s library collection consisted only of Plečnik’s library. It continued to grow and expand over the years that followed, particularly through private collections donated to the museum by renowned architects, among them Dušan Grabrijan, Jaroslav Foerster, Ivo Spinčič, Drago Umek, Jaroslav Černigoj, Pavel Göstl, and Stanko Rohrman; and photographers Damjan Gale and Stojan Kerbler; and others. Today, the library consists of approximately 10,000 monographs on architecture, design, and photography, and more than 4,500 issues of specialized serial publications. Its archive of Slovenian and foreign magazines is particularly extensive. Since 1972, a part of the library’s work has been dedicated to documenting and keeping a record of articles relating to museum activities.
