In late September 2009, at an altitude of 2883 meters near Zermatt, the New Monte Rosa Hut SAC was inaugurated. The innovative project was completed under the aegis of acknowledged archictural and engineer school ETH Zurich and the Swiss Alpine Club SAC along with a range of specialists and companies. With its fusion of outstanding architecture and groundbreaking technology, the New Monte Rosa Hit SAC heralds a new age in sustainable building.

The touring exhibition created in 2010 by the Instistue gta of the Department of Architecture and the ETH Studio Monte Rosa documents the construction and innovation, specifically developed for the now famous mountain hut, and displays various documents related to this project.

The exhibition has been presented at different locations in Switzerland, Europe and Asia.
