In 1968, a group of three Slovenian architects – Marjan Bežan, Vladimir Braco Mušić and Nives Starc – won the national competition for the expansion project of the new Split – Split III. In the case of a new Split they developed a unique example of merging avant-garde theories of architectural and urban composition and introduced the idea of urban “neighborhoods”.
