My Concrete Garden
15. 6.—10. 10. 2013
The garden collection designed by the architect and designer Tina Rugelj expresses the aim of designing filigree furniture with the aesthetic qualities of fibre cement. It also serves to reveal another side of concrete, from a particularly alternative point of view. The collection transforms a cold, hard material into elegant shapes; and thin objects into strong and enduring structures; and lends a poetic dimension to a traditionally rough and unsophisticated material.
The collection produced by Esal, d.o.o. is also durable, low maintenance, weather-resistant and well suited to outdoor use. A few pieces of furniture have been displayed at the Museum of Architecture and Design at the 23rd Biennial of Design in Ljubljana, but this time the collection is supplemented. In the courtyard of the museum a table, seater that can be combined into a two-seater, dog house, planter that can be used also as tee table, place for storage or seater element, garden lamp Casco and garden sink are displayed.
