What does the saying “to have a roof over one’s head” mean?  What do we mean when we say “to live under someone’s roof”? 

Roof signifies shelter, safety, home, and warmth. And it can also shield archaeological remains from the elements. For example, architect Oton Jugovec designed a very special roof construction, which was his interpretation of the traditional Slovenian hayrack. 

At the workshop we will explore various types of roofs, discover floating and lifted roofs (Plečnik), search for a common thread between masonry and architecture, and create models of various roofs.
