Colour and Shape Course: Designing the Modern Interior 1930-Today

17. 08. 2021

As one of the key elements in creating atmosphere in a space, colours are the focus of both architects and interior designers’ attention. The urge to know more about colours as one of the fundamental elements that shape our perception of objects and our surroundings resulted in the course Colour and Form. It was organised at the initiative of the new study program in industrial design at the architecture department of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, in cooperation with the Housing Research Department at the Urban Planning Institute of the PRS. The lecturers were associates of the Colour School from Stockholm, namely Erik Berglund, C. G. Boulogner and Gösta Sandberg, who introduced Slovenian professionals to the characteristics of the natural colour system and its applicability in everyday life through lectures and practical workshops.

The course was so well-received that it led to the establishment of the Colour and Form club, which connected designers, producers, and consumers with the aim to raise the general colour and design culture.

The World Inside, Designing the Modern Interior 1930-Today, features trailblazing architectural and interior design projects that changed the way we see and use modern interiors.
