Crafting Biodiversity seminar: round table and handover of biodiversity parcels

Crafting Biodiversity seminar: round table and handover of biodiversity parcels

4 September 2025, 16:30 – 19:30

Location: MAO park (MAO hall in the event of bad weather)

The Crafting Biodiversity project explores craft as a reparative and insurgent land practice. It has created a speculative biodiversity corridor between Krater and the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana, challenging the way ecological connectivity is imagined, governed and enacted in the urban realm. Biodiversity-rich plots from feral ecologies facing erasure by urban development have been transplanted into public greenspaces, forming experimental biodiversity parcels totalling 30,000 m². Enclosed and reclassified as cultural public space, these zones activate multispecies stewardship through phased mowing, and interrupt normative patterns of urban land management.

16:30 – 17:00 Presentation: The Crafting Biodiversity project for the Future Legacies exhibition at MAO
