These Terms and Conditions for MAO Online Store are drawn up in accordance with the Slovenian Consumer Protection Act (ZVPot), Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-1) and Electronics Communication Act (ZEKom-1), and in compliance with the provisions of EU General Data Protection Act.
The Online Store of the Museum of Architecture and Design is operated by the Museum of Architecture and Design, Rusjanov trg 7, 1000 Ljubljana (hereinafter referred to as MAO), company number: 3454428000, VAT ID no.: SI48922366. These Terms and Conditions govern the operation of MAO Online Store, rights and obligations of users and the store, and the business relationship between MAO and the buyer. The user shall be bound by the Terms and Conditions applicable at the time of the placing of an online order. The user shall acknowledge his/her awareness and acceptance of the Terms and Conditions at the latest when placing an order. MAO reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions without prior notice or warning.
Shopping in MAO Online Store is simple and safe. The Online Store permits purchases from Slovenia and from abroad and is intended for natural and legal persons. We will ensure the transparency of data and guide you safely through each step of your purchase.

These Terms and Conditions apply from 30 January 2021.
Because of the nature of online operations, the product range in MAO Online Store is updated and frequently amended. The prices shall apply for the purchase in MAO Online Store. As a principle, MAO Online Store product range contains only items held in stock. In the unlikely case that an item cannot be delivered, the buyer shall be notified of this immediately. MAO shall remove the undeliverable item from the order and refund the amount already paid for it; at the option of the buyer, MAO shall deliver the remaining items of the order or cancel the entire order. MAO assumes no liability for the damage resulting from longer delivery times or non-delivery of products.
Select your product and add it to the list of selected products by clicking the “Add to cart” button. The shopping cart is where you can review the list of your selected products, change quantities, or remove items. The items you have added to your shopping cart will remain there until you have concluded your order or removed them from the cart. You can return to shopping and add new items at any point in time, whereby the items already added to the cart will remain there.
When your list of selected items contains the products you wish to buy, proceed to filling out the form with all mandatory information and choose the delivery / collection method. Returning users should check their contact information already stored in our system. New users should provide all mandatory contact information and choose the delivery method.
If you agree with the information you have provided, place an order by clicking the “Buy” button. Your order will thus be placed, and a confirmation will be sent to your e-mail address.
The purchase agreement between MAO and the buyer shall be concluded in the moment when MAO has sent to the buyer an electronic message confirming the status of his/her order. From this moment forward, all prices, delivery information and other conditions become fixed and binding for MAO and the buyer alike.
Purchasing by Legal Persons
Legal persons cannot make purchases directly in MAO Online Store. If you wish to have an invoice made out to your company or organisation, please contact us at email@example.com or call us during MAO opening hours at +386 1 548 42 80.
All prices are inclusive of VAT. Prices are valid at the moment of placing an order and do not have a predetermined validity. Despite our best efforts to provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate information, the pricing information may turn out to be wrong. In this case or in case of changes in the price of an item during the processing of the order, MAO will allow the buyer to withdraw from the purchase.
Payment and Payment Methods
MAO Online Store supports the following payment methods:
Payment by credit card (Maestro, Mastercard, Visa) via Stripe system. You will receive an invoice for the services rendered, either in the delivered package together with your items or to your e-mail address.
SEPA direct debit transaction via Stripe. More information about the general terms and conditions of Stripe platform is available here (in English).
The purchase agreement (order) is stored in electronic form on store operator’s server. One copy of this agreement is sent to the buyer via electronic mail, after the order has been successfully implemented. Afterwards, access to this agreement shall be made available to the consumer by the operator, whereby the consumer may request a copy of this agreement at the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org. The operator shall thereafter send the requested copy to the consumer either in hardcopy by post or in electronic form to the e-mail address provided by the consumer.
In order to verify information or ensure the accuracy of delivery, the buyer may call the operator during opening hours at +386 1 548 42 80 or write to email@example.com.
Delivery Time and Method
Delivery is made through Pošta Slovenije (Post of Slovenia). Delivery costs depends on the weight of purchased items. The delivery cost is shown before the conclusion of online order. Alternatively, you also have the option to personally collect your order in MAO shop. The delivery is provided by Pošta Slovenije, usually on the next business day from the day of dispatch, but as a rule in three business days at the latest. Upon the dispatch of your shipment, you will receive a notification informing you that your items have been shipped. The delivery time for Slovenia is 8 business days after the receipt of electronic notification at your e-mail address that your order has been accepted and payment received. In case of longer delivery times, you will be notified accordingly via e-mail. If the longer delivery time is inconvenient for you, you can notify us accordingly and we will either remove the item from your order, replace it with another, or cancel the entire order.
Upon or after the delivery, MAO shall send the buyer an e-invoice. The invoice shall contain the broken-down price and all costs relating to the purchase. The buyer’s obligation is to verify the correctness of information provided in the invoice and notify the seller of any mistakes in eight days from the receipt of invoice. After that period, objections as to the correctness of issued invoices shall not be considered.
Buyer has the right to withdraw from the purchase in 14 days from the delivery of products, whereby he/she shall bear the direct cost of returning the products. Products must be returned unused, undamaged, and wrapped in original packaging. The costs of returning the products shall be borne by the buyer. A copy of the invoice and refund information (personal bank account number) must be attached. In case of withdrawal from the agreement, MAO shall return all payments received from the buyer, deducted for the costs of original delivery to the buyer and any transactional provisions. The purchase price will be refunded as soon as possible, but not later than in 14 days from the receipt of notification about the withdrawal from purchase and returned products.
The goods shall be returned to the following address: Muzej za arhitekturo in oblikovanje Ljubljana, Rusjanov trg 7, 1000 Ljubljana.
Security of Purchase and Personal Data
MAO ensures the security of your personal data during the shopping and payment process, and a secure purchasing process with protection against misuse.
Our payment service provider is Stripe. During the placing of order, the provider collects certain personal information related to purchase. More information about the general terms and conditions of Stripe platform is available here (in English).
As buyer, you are responsible for the access to your system. As buyer, you guarantee that all information provided by you is correct and true.
Purchase Notification Process
After placing an order, buyer shall receive notification on the website and to his/her e-mail address that the order has been received.
- The order has been dispatched or is ready to be collected. MAO shall, within the agreed deadline, prepare the items, dispatch or prepare them for personal collection and notify the buyer accordingly via e-mail.
Damages upon delivery and material defects
If you have received a product or package that is physically damaged on delivery, is missing items or shows signs of having been opened, you have to initiate compensation proceedings with Pošta Slovenije. You can do so by bringing the package to a post office as soon as possible. Inform the postal worker that a Protocol of Damaged Consignment has to filled out, which you must sign afterwards. Together with Pošta Slovenije we will do our best to resolve your complaint within the shortest time possible.
A defect shall be deemed material if: a product does not have the properties necessary for its normal use; a product does not have the characteristics and features that have been explicitly or implicitly agreed upon or prescribed; the seller has delivered an item that does not match the sample or model, unless the sample or model was shown for information purposes only (symbolically). The buyer must inform us, at his/her own cost and within the statutory time period, of any material defects and provide their accurate description. At the same time, the buyer shall allow us to inspect the item. Detailed regulations regarding the right to enforce claims relating to material defects are provided in ZVPot.
Complaints and disputes
MAO complies with the applicable legislation on consumer protection and is doing its best to fulfil its duty with regard to the provision of an effective complaint handling system.
