* Essay Competition has ended and the participants will be notified on the prizes and the publishing of the essays via email in early November (2020). The first prize-winning essays from the individual categories will also be translated into English.<\/div>\n

COMPETITION THEME<\/strong><\/div>\n
In reference to the general theme of the City Street4 Conference (CS4), the My street in the\u00a0city of the future Essay Competition invites entries to document your street\/streets in a\u00a0near or distant future.\u00a0Do you think the streets will be clean, green, full of cyclist, pedestrians and people who\u00a0like to spend time and socialize outside? Or do you think that streets will become open\u00a0spaces with robots cleaning them while people will use them only to drive in all sorts of\u00a0new self-driving (autonomous) or even flying vehicles for example? Can the control of the\u00a0drones and cameras in the future affect people\u2019s habits in the streets? Do you have some\u00a0ideas how young people can participate to make city streets better in the future?<\/div>\n

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Form and Language<\/strong><\/div>\n
English and Slovene are the official languages for Essay Competition that is part of the\u00a0City Street4 Conference. If submitted writing will be in any other world language, an\u00a0English translation must be provided along with a submission. The author is responsible for\u00a0the correctness of the translation. For the jury review Only the English or Slovene\u00a0submissions will be eligible.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The essay should be at least 750 words long and not longer than 1500 words. The essay may be\u00a0accompanied with drawings or sketches.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The submitted writings must have a clear link to the\u00a0main theme of the Competition.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Eligibility<\/strong><\/div>\n
The competition My street in the city of the future is open to schooling youth and students\u00a0between the ages of 10 to 18.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Participation will be in one of two separate categories:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 age category from 10 to 14 and<\/div>\n
\u2022 age category from 15 to 18.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Prizes<\/strong><\/div>\n
The Top 3 writings from each of the two age categories (10 \u2013 14 years old; 15 \u2013 18 years\u00a0old) will be published on the CS4 webpage and exhibited during the conference in Ljubljana\u00a0between 22 September 2020 and 27 September 2020.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The authors of the top 3 writings from each\u00a0category will win the prizes, the first prize for both categories is a tablet computer.<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Jury<\/strong><\/div>\n
Essays submitted to the My street in the city of the future Essay Competition entries will\u00a0be assessed according to their engagement with the competition theme, their creativity and\u00a0originality.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The jury\u2019s decisions will be final and irrevocable. The organizers reserve the right to\u00a0replace or add a jury member at any time.<\/div>\n

How to Submit?<\/strong><\/div>\n
Participation in the My street in the city of the future essay competition is free of charge\u00a0and registration is through the City Street4 website. Only one entry per person is allowed.\u00a0All entries should be submitted in digital format.<\/div>\n

The submission system will be open till 10 June 2020, 11.00 pm (Central European Time).<\/div>\n

The essay must be submitted as a Word .doc and\/or .pdf file.\u00a0Each submitted writing must be uploaded through the conference web-portal along with other\u00a0data required in the submission form.<\/div>\n
