Groups can choose among different theme walks to visit the heritage of famous architects or momentous historical periods that have left an important mark on Ljubljana&#8217;s historical city centre. Walks in Ljubljana city centre offer an insight into the work of one of the most important Slovenian architects, Jo\u017ee Ple\u010dnik, and provide an opportunity to admire the free and easy-going style of Art Noveau architecture built at the turn from the 19<sup>th<\/sup> to the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century, or the buildings of modern Ljubljana designed in the second half of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century by architects Edvard Ravnikar, Edo Mihevc, Milan Miheli\u010d, and Vinko Glanz and their associates. A boat tour on the Ljubljanica river takes visitors along Ple\u010dnik&#8217;s water axis, past the renovated Ljubljanica embankments (recipient of the European Prize for Urban Public Space) and under the river\u2019s bridges, offering a completely new perspective and image of the city. Its varied history gives a special feel to the museum\u2019s exhibitions and provides context for our guided tours of the castle and its history. Since its establishment, the castle has changed owners several times, which has also been reflected in its architectural structure. An important addition to its structure was the hydroelectric station erected towards the end of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century to serve the Vev\u010de paper mill. The station is still in operation today and is considered a unique landmark of technical heritage.
