The summer school by Passa Ao Futuro is a fully funded 2-week intensive workshop taking place at Loulé Crtiativo in Loulé, Portugal. Design, architecture and craft students are invited to explore techniques of basket weaving with five traditional Portuguese raw-materials to co-create a series of new pieces with five Portuguese master craftspeople, guided by two design mentors.The objective is to innovate and push the boundaries of these techniques in the twenty-first century, culminating in an exhibition of new pieces.
Applicants must be over 18, have a strong interest in craftsmanship, and be able to attend the entire course with scholarships covering tuition, accommodation, and meals for selected participants.

MADE IN is a research, design and heritage platform that proposes new collaborative practices and knowledge exchange between the traditional craftspeople and contemporary designers. It connects 10 partners from 6 countries and is co-financed by the European Union.
