On March the 2nd, in about 100 cities around the world, the first Italian Design Day will be celebrated. At the initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and of Tourism, in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency and Triennale di Milano, 100 ambassadors of Italian design will illustrate their work processes and the realization of some of the most innovative projects in recent years.

The lecture will discuss design as an all-encompassing phenomenon, which covers developing products, but also taking into consideration the ecosystem and imagining new spaces. An Italian professional meets his Slovenian colleagues, in order to point to areas of excellence in the country he’s visiting and share them in Italy, exploring possible synergies.

We are happy to announce that Italian design day connects us beyond our capital. At the same time tomorrow, designer Odo Fioravanti will give a lecture on design in Brussels. He is currently involved as a mentor in the episode ‘New Heroes’ for 25th Biennial of Design – BIO25.

Palmeri designs products and spaces for brands like Lavazza, Invicta, Guzzini, but is also a trained musician who realized sound installations and published various cds. He designed musical instruments, such as a keyboard for Korg and the Paraffina Slapster guitar. Lorenzo was the recipient of a Good Design Award and was selected for various editions of the ADI Design Index.
